DEW is Ireland's longest standing and premier forum for economic policy debate. Founded in 1977, the annual economic policy conference is attended by policymakers, academics and practitioners with a focus on evidence-based policymaking. For 32 years, the conference was held in Kenmare, County Kerry. The 'Kenmare Conference' as it became known, was a unique economic conference where civil servants, academics, professional economists, politicians, and journalists all met to discuss economic theory and policy. The 2019 conference will take place in Clayton Whites Hotel, Wexford on 13/14 September and will cover topics including the labour market, housing, the economics of health, small open economies and the 20th anniversary of the euro. The full line-up can be found on our events page. There is an excellent line up of speakers including Minister for Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform Paschal Donohoe T.D.
